Likely the longest standing IASCA Affiliate country, Colombia is one of the largest IASCA Affiliate countries worldwide, in terms of event production and membership.
IASCA Colombia and IASCA Latin America Director, Javier Pardo Moreno, has been hosting IASCA Sanctioned events for over 14 years and has created a cult following for IASCA competition in his country, as well as many other Latin American countries such as Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador and Argentina, to name a few.
Mr. Pardo Moreno is the owner of Sonido Colombia, the event promotions company behind IASCA Colombia and IASCA Latin America. With a competitor membership approaching 1,000, it's no surprise to see well over 200 vehicles competing at one of the regularly scheduled IASCA events throughout the season. The IASCA Colombia Finals, named "La Campeonato Nacional de Sonido Sobre Ruedas", is one of the largest automotive, car audio and lifestyle events in the country; it typically attracts between 40,000 and 50,000 spectators over the course of two days and is heavily supported by industry members, such as Pioneer Latin America, Kenwood Latin America, Soundstream, Alpine and many other manufacturers.
They have even formed the "IASCA Escuala del Instalacion" (IASCA Installation School) which is typically attended by over 100 students through the course of a session.
Even though the IASCA Sound Quality, IdBL and Tuner Jam competition formats are very strong, IASCA Colombia's competition claim to fame is their version of IASCA's Everblast Bass Boxing, called "SPL Open Show". SPL Open Show events are heavily attended by competitors, usually numbering in the hundreds at regularly sanctioned IASCA Colombia events and spectator turnout for the "show" is astonishing. The SPL Open Show Finals at the IASCA Colombia Finals usually sees upwards of 5,000 spectators alone for the event.
And not to be outdone by the traditional "bikini contests" we are accustomed to, IASCA Colombia's "Las Chicas del Car Audio" show is a definite "Do not miss this one" if you're there...
