That's right boys and girls...this past weekend in Toronto, both Moe and his lovely wife Kim were spotted running around in little red suits. They, along with Jeff, Martine, Jason and Tammy hosted the Mobile Dynamics 2x Soundoff held in cahoots with DB Drag and everyones favorite father (fasser) Yuli. There was a great turn-out of competitors for both formats. My wife and I made the 4 hour drive and competed in everything they offerred. The sun was out, the temp was comfortable, and everyone had fun.
As for me, it was "old home weekend" being able to see many of the original judges and competitors all in one place. Having Moe call the event brought back lots of great memories. I'd like to say thank you to all the IASCA judges and Yuli for making it a very enjoyable event. Jason gay and his family (kids as well) were there to offer SQ to the many that attended. On a personal note, Jason and his wonderful wife Tammy, have devoted almost all of there free time to bringing back SQ to Canada and the US. Their dilligence, devotion, and uncompromising spirit is one of the big reasons SQ thrives where ever they go. Awesome show J !
There were a handful of sound-virgins at the event that by the end of the day were as experienced as all the rest. (Thanks for the ride Justin) The loudest of the day went toa veteran competitor, Yaniv, who hit a 180+ when another competitor ran over his foot. However, on the mike that day he hit a solid 159.0. He recovered after an icepack to the foot and some hand-fed pizza. Think of me when that foot starts throbbing buddy!
As impressive as the numbers were on the IASCA side (seems like everyone was hitting over 150 db),
Father Yuli was cranking it up on the DB Drag side of the lot. His little CRX with 1 battery, 2 amps and a single 10" sub was hitting well up in the 150's. Amazing. I hate to even mention that at one point a Toyota Yaris pulled up and hit way up inthe 150's.........man, do I feel old.
In recapping, the Mobile Dynamics show was a big hit with everyone (except old "flat-foot" Yaniv). The trophies looked great, everyone was sunburned, and the judges did, as always, a super-fantastic job. Thanks to everyone for making that 4 hour drive of mine well worth it. It was great seeing everyone.
