No, that is not true; SQC is about sound quality and creating a system in your vehicle that closely reproduces the sound of a live concert. Rear speakers will give you some fill, but if properly balanced, can enhance the reproduction of the music.

You'll always want to have a strong front stage, but rear speakers as fill is your option; some people like them, some don't. The choice is yours; if you like to have some output from the rear, go for it!
