With close to 175 entries, IASCA Worldwide conducted its annual World Finals at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Center this past October 14th and 15th, 2023. ISPLL, MASQ and EMMA joined IASCA Worldwide at the facility to host their events as well, bringing the total entries to almost 300.

On the sound quality front, over 50 competitors competed for the top spot in their respective classes, as well as the coveted Triple Crown Award. In the 1 seat Triple Crown, Jeffrey Hald emerged victorious with a score of 75.5% and in the 2 seat Triple Crown, Brian Mitchell once again took top honors. IASCA Worldwide also invited Sound Quality Champion and owner of Mobile Soundstage Engineering Mark Eldridge to conduct sound quality training seminars for competitors and Judges alike. Two reference systems were set up to teach advanced audio and how to make car audio systems sound their absolute best. “It has been several years since I have had the opportunity to be at the end of year finals event, and it is a very refreshing time for me!” said Eldridge “I listened to more car audio systems in two days than I have in a long time!”
World Champions were crowned in both Sound Quality and SPL. The SPL portion of Finals was held in two locations; BJCC and the Oregon State Fair and Expo Center in Salem, Oregon on October 1st. Competition was fierce at both locations and 13 SPL World Records were broken over both weekends in both IdBL and Bass Boxing. Along with World Finals event, IASCA Worldwide launched its inaugural 2024 event, which kicks off IASCA’s 35th year of bringing competition to the car audio community.
